EngineeringThis innovative and exciting New Visions opportunity is hosted in the Materials Science and Engineering department at Cornell University. The classroom is in Thurston Hall, overlooking the engineering quad. The location and available resources allows high-achieving high school students from the TST BOCES districts to explore various engineering careers and the possibilities that they bring. The engineering program will provide a pre-college engineering experience that authentically explores engineering processes and practices, reveals the scope of engineering endeavors, highlights the impact engineers have on society and prepares participants for an undergraduate engineering program.

Life Sciences / Applied Scientific ResearchNew Visions Life Sciences is a unique, fun and challenging opportunity for students to explore their interest in life processes and the world around them from a biological and social perspective. In cooperation with Cornell University and local business and industry, students explore their individual academic interests, be it from veterinary medicine to environmental engineering or anything in between. The integrated approach to teaching allows students to fulfill senior year requirements of English, Government & Economics within the context of life sciences.

Health & Medical SciencesNew Visions Health and Medical Sciences is an exciting and challenging option for students interested in medicine and related healthcare professions. In cooperation with the Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, students gain wide exposure to the varied careers in healthcare. The applied learning approach integrates the required senior year courses of English, Government, and Economics with Advanced Studies in Health Sciences and Anatomy & Physiology (concurrent credit).
